MOD Public Health Consultants Limited is a registered public health solutions Company. We are based in Uganda, Masaka District, 135 km south-west of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. MOD was founded on July 28 th , 2015 by a team of public health professionals and has fifteen years’ combined experience in designing and executing innovative public health programmes particularly in the field of; HIV and AIDS, maternal and child health.
Approximately 1.6 million people from rural communities of Africa still die from simple preventable illnesses which can be treated with timely access to appropriate and affordable medicines, vaccines and other health services. However, our findings reveal that the latest effective and affordable healthcare innovations are not reaching those who need them first.
Typically, in Africa more so in Uganda, our findings show that there is a time lag between discovery and application of public health and medical innovations of 5-10 years. Without access to timely universal health care Coverage (UHC), Africans continue to be susceptible to emerging public health problems and the big killer diseases on the continent: malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
Maternal and infant mortality is still at unacceptable magnitude. 50% of children under five still die of pneumonia, diarrhea, measles according to the World Health Organization (WHO). MOD is working with Public health researchers, medical and technological innovators globally to source, translate, synthesis and deliver emerging public health and medical innovations and solution using our knowledge Translation, Synthesis and Application (KNOTSA) model. Our strategic goal is to contribute towards the realization of universal health care coverage among 750,000 People from under-served communities and sub-populations in Uganda.
